About These NHTSA Complaints:
This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I have a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado extended cab that continues to experience intermittent electrical problems. The airbag sensor light comes on unexpectedly, the fan blower intermittently stops working on settings 1-3, and the front turn signal bulbs go out every 5000-6000 miles. I can usually brush the components under the glove compartment to get the blower working, and the airbag sensor usual goes out after a week or so.
On 10/15/2004, I began to turn the ignition key of my 2004 Chevrolet Colorado automobile. The vehicle was parked. Just as I turned the ignition, the steering wheel airbag inflated. The steering wheel airbag inflated for no reason. The vehicle is still under warranty since I have only owned the vehicle several weeks. The manufacturer will be replacing the airbag under warranty. The airbag inflation did not result in serious injury. The only injury was a rug burn like feeling to the face and a sore left eye and a sore left hand. Neither appear to be serious.
