I was stopped at a red light heading West on bell rd. And 43rd ave in phoenix Arizona. When the light turned green I proceeded into the intersection. Then out of no where I was hit almost head on by a 1993 Buick causing me head to hit the driver side window, and no airbags had deployed to prevent my head from hitting the glass.

My daughter was involved in a car accident on May 28 2013. She was in the hospital from May 29 2013 til July 10,2013. She was alone in the car somehow lost control went into a ditch and hit a tree the air bags did not deploy she was in a coma when she was found. She has brain injury, crushed collarbone, and injury to her left arm. Also it's a miracle that she is alive everyone that treated her is amazed that she lived. She is also still having medical problems. A nerve in her brain is damaged that has caused her to develop gastroparesis. I wanted to report this a long time ago but didn't know where to file this til I saw on the news about the investigation on the Chevy Cobalt the airbags not deploying please keep her in mind during this investigation thank you.

Vehicle purchased 12/19/13 from Nissan dealership. One previous owner with clean carfax. 18 year old daughter driving in inclement weather and slid off road. Vehicle rolled upside down after striking tree approximately 15 ft into ravine. Daughter sustained immediate head injury causing her to black out so she is not able to tell if there was any problem with steering, etc. Also sustained broken collarbone as seatbelt kept her from falling out of car. Rear half of roof was crushed into rear seat headrests. None of the airbags deployed! upon hearing about GM's recall issues and pending investigation on news on 3/13/14, notified our insurance and asked them to reexamine vehicle based upon criteria mentioned in recall issues. Insurance stated this will be further investigated with GM as well. Police report on file as well.

Vehicle became hard to steer and lost power and the brakes would not work. Nothing on the car would work and finally I was unable to fight the wheel anymore and the car flipped. None of the airbags deployed. I think than an investigation for the newer models of the Cobalt be done as well. From the description that was given for the suit that is now ongoing with the GM ignition problem, my car did the exact same thing. We could have been killed in this accident, . I have photos of the vehicle. It was horrible.

Driving in the right lane on the North way at 62 mph. Van in middle lane approached my lane to where I was forced to move over catching rumble strips and the side of the road. This caused my vehicle to roll several times, during this roll over, not one air bag deployed. We were trapped in the car having the fire rescue to forcibly open our doors. The front of the vehicle was completely wiped out. All windows imploded, minus the passenger back window. Injuries included a broken neck, finger, glass embedded through out the skin and many cuts with the seat belt and glass, abrasions and bruises. This car was in brand new condition.

My daughter was traveling on a straight road when the steering became difficult. The vehicle went from side to side moving from the right of the road to the left of the road while fighting the wheel. She was unable to control the car and her arms gave out and she could not fight it anymore and then the car flipped and ended up on its side after hitting a fence and fence post. The rear airbags did not deploy. This car is very dangerous and people need to come forward with this information. Something has to be done before more people loose their lives. I could have lost my daughter because of a defect for which I have never rec'd a notice.

Air bag service indicator comes on and air bags become inoperable. This has occured multiple times in between 3 trips to dealer for repair. First time at dealer: Dealer claimed to order parts but never did. Second time at dealer: Dealer claimed to have replaced passenger air bag sensor and module. Third time at dealer: Dealer claimed electronic devices such as cell phones placed on seat will trigger the service air bag notification. The dealer claimed NHTSA reference #10030788 and tsb reference #sb-08-09-41-007A covered the incident and no further diagnose needed. However, the referenced items does not mention a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt. Fyi, any failure in the system disables the complete air bag system and would result in one or more fatal injuries if not fixed properly. It would also prohibit obtaining a vehicle inspection unless fixed. This is a major safety issue for all vehicles mentioned. Recommend relocation of sensor and/or proper shielding of sensor from surrounding electronic devices.

Electronic devices engaging passenger airbag and seatbelt notification. When I put an ac adaptor (lightweight), or most electronic devices, sometimes even just my ipod, on my passenger seat it thinks a person is sitting there. If I were to crash this would be a big problem airbags are expensive, plus the car is always beeping at me. I went to the dealership while my car was under warranty and they said, well you just cannot put it there. There is nothing we can for you, I even asked if they could at least put a center console in. (answer: No) I am reporting this as property damage because they won't fix my car which is obviously not functioning correctly, then let me drive off with an unsafe car. So be careful with putting your electronics on your passenger seat it could mean totaling your car, airbags are expensive. Also my Cobalt does not have a center console so there is no where else to put my electronics, which to me seems like a bought a damaged vehicle. I cannot use the functions it is supposed to have, like the aux input, because I have nowhere to put the MP3 player without activating the passenger seat alarm/airbag. Be careful and help me complain. This is very shady, also right after I got my car they (the Chevy dealership) acknowledged my Cobalt was part of the affected "unintended acceleration" cars, now there is nothing about it anywhere. They said they would call me when they had a fix for it, and yet I was never contacted and I just got contacted about my power steering recall with no mention of the other problem they had previously acknowledged, affected my car. I don't think there is coincidence recalls are controlled by the same people that control GM, the government. It took GM 5 years to start fixing this power steering problem, think twice before buying General Motors, you are really buying government motors, and your protected by their wonderful recall coverup program.
