The 2006 added it’s own special flare with gas leaks due to cracks in the “return portion of the modular reservoir assembly.” A recall of 2006 Cobalts was issued to fix the problem, but only to vehicles sold in or current registered in Arizona and Nevada, leaving other owners to pay for repairs themselves.
Seriously, I despise this car. If I would have been a few more feel up my street, I would not have been able to stop for the kids playing in the street cause not only did my steering freak out, my breaks went out at the same time!!!!!! POS CAR!!!
The car pulls to the left because the rear end is out of alignment. The drivers side rear tire is pointed slightly toward the passenger front tire.
I contacted Chevy about the problem after the Chev dealership (very nice and helpful folks) told me it couldn't be fixed, they offered a 12 month additional warranty plus all my oil changes for a year free. Yippie!!!! Dumb clucks. I need the car fixed, not oil changes and a stupid warranty.
I have about had it with Chevrolet. They are hurting for customers and driving them away at the same time.
Spend $500 in parts and labor to fix my car and I will continue to buy new GM products. My wife's car is running a little ragged, I wonder what Ford, Toyota, or Honda are putting out now days.
It turns out the new top of the line tires and the car are not compatible. Put a cheap set of tires on it and POOF, the car drives straight down the road just like the dealer said it would. The squishy flat tire feel is gone too.
I have to say, the tires made a big big difference. I honestly didn't realize the car would have such a problem with good tires.
The alignment problem appears to be fixed also thanks to the local dealer and Chev.
Why would the Cobalt be allergic to top of the line tires?
had a clicking noise in steering and it was pulling to left and very hard to steer, also the steering would shake and they replaced the steering colum and steering shaft and the SIR coil in steering wheel ... all problems resolved thank god
Remember me from the suspension complaint. This little cobalt has it all.
22.000 miles. Now the steering pulls to the left (right into opposing traffic). I have tried 2 and a half sets of new tires (10 tires) to fix this problem and 5 times in the shop for alignment, It is obvious by now the problem is not with the alignment nor can it be cured with alignment two weeks.
The local Chev dealer has been very nice to me about this problem and so has Chevrolet Inc. Chevrolet seems genuinely interested in taking care of this problem.
The problem has not been resolved as yet.
Curious, if you turn the engine off at 60 mph the car stops pulling to the left. Good chance of getting killed though.
Very comfortable car but the handling could be improved vastly.
