The 2006 added it’s own special flare with gas leaks due to cracks in the “return portion of the modular reservoir assembly.” A recall of 2006 Cobalts was issued to fix the problem, but only to vehicles sold in or current registered in Arizona and Nevada, leaving other owners to pay for repairs themselves.
When it first started happening, the brakes would shake only when I was doing about 60 or more and then braking on the highway. Then after a few months it became a problem on the main roads at 30 or 40 mph and I would brake and I could feel the brake pedal jolting and also my steering wheel would shake violently from side to side and also things in the car would shake too. The problem seemed to only happen on the driver's side and it doesn't seem like it is happening from the passengers side. I have constant problems with this vehicle.
From the first day I bought this Colbalt, I had problems with the brakes. Took it to 4 different shops and all claim they can't find even a warped rotor. I even replaced the rotors and it still shook when it was braking, especially from higher speed; from 50 and up it shook violently when braking. Down with Colbalts.
i have had this car in to the dealership numerous times gettin it looked at and i even had the brakes tuned up around two months ago...... and now since they have done brake work their is a horrible vibration out of my front tires and this time it will not be covered under warranty as this same problem occurred on my Malibu and i had to foot a $300 brake job bill...... not at all looking forward to that......!!!!!!!
