The 2006 added it’s own special flare with gas leaks due to cracks in the “return portion of the modular reservoir assembly.” A recall of 2006 Cobalts was issued to fix the problem, but only to vehicles sold in or current registered in Arizona and Nevada, leaving other owners to pay for repairs themselves.
I take pride in my vehicle, however, the fading paint spots on top of the roof are very embarrassing. I've checked several places to get estimates to replace the paint and it will cost between $500 to $700.
I feel that this is a defect in the paint initially used by Chevrolet and that the factory should be responsible for re-painting my car.
The color of my car is suppose to be purple.. But the roof is turning white in large splotches. There are other small spots here and there on the car that are now starting too fade. Going to have it painted because it looks like crap!
Defective paint is only covered under warranty for the first 12,000 miles. My car just rolled over 35,000 miles and looks like a clunker thanks to the paint. I owe 8 more payments and after that, I guess I will save to get it repainted. I was so proud of this car! The color is Gun Metal Gray and the roof is almost white.
