The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt. The contact also owns a graco child seat, model 8690cnn (na). The seat was manufactured on July 16, 2006. While the contact's child was seated in the child safety seat, the buckle could be easily released with little force. He stated that the buckle did not have a child safety resistance device. A buckle mechanism was ordered from the manufacturer and replaced; however, the failure recurred without a resolution. The contact was concerned of the safety risk involved. The purchase date of the child seat was unknown.
