The contact stated while driving on rough roads a noise was coming from the steering. The noise sounded like there was something loose in the steering. After driving the vehicle approximately 5000 miles the steering shaft was replaced. This did not correct the problem. The manufacturer was contacted, and they stated there was a technical service bulletin (tsb) NHTSA 10017497 that dealt with this problem. However there was no solution to correct the problem.
