CarComplaints.com Notes: The Cobalt was introduced to replace two of Chevy’s smaller cars, the Cavalier and Prizm. But the compact’s fresh start that Chevy was hoping for was riddled with issues, most notably widespread power steering failure.
This problem started on the drivers side. It has happened on both sides now. It has caused 2 other than myself to slice our fingers thus causing surprised bleeding to show up on the interior. Blood stains.. forget it !!
Update from Mar 10, 2019: I as well as friends have cut their fingers on this very problem. Pretty bad when a lady friend cuts their finger and bleeds on their sunday dress !! That's a bit embarrassing to say the least.
