The car suddenly lost the power to accelerate. Now it goes 0 to 20 in 2 minutes, and it won't go faster than 40 mph! When stopped at a light the car shakes like an old washing machine and makes a horrible noise. We took it to a repair guy and we've been told that the engine is finished (the horrible sound does seem to come from the engine block).
