This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I have seen 3 95 and 96 Cavaliers with this problem, the other 2 are only at 50,000 miles. Classic Chevrolet looked at it and said it was bad and then a month later said there wasn't a problem. I need antifreeze once a month.
Transmission failed due to defect 50% paid by manufacturer **** driver's side view mirror shakes rendering it useless while vehicle in motion ****** head gasket leaked coolant slowly over time/dealer replaced under service bulletin. Unsure of other damage leak caused to cooling system (I.e. water pump) ******* driver's side window was misaligned and leaked water / dealer stopped water leak, but still misaligned today -car had history of same repair twice by previous owner, said dealer ******** unexplained rattling metallic sound during cold starts from front engine compartment/dealer stated no apparent problem, continues today
