I bought my 2013 Captiva, from a reputable nationally known used/new car dealer Car Max in July. I fell in love with the look, and easy drive, size and the luxury items for a chevy crossover. I'd not bought a car in over 14 years and needed one bad without a huge monthly payment. Within the first couple of weeks I started hearing a ping noise when I started the engine. I happened may twice. The second time was on a Sunday before leaving out for church the noise was so loud I thought the car exploded, so I took it to Car Max service Dept. but they couldn't re enact the sound so I brought it back home. They were unable to give me a copy of their 4 point inspection or record of where they got the car from as it is a fleet sales type vehicle.
Of concern is the slight jerking when at a stop with the engine running. The service associate stated this was normal as the car is ideling down from the drive, but this also is becoming more noticeable.
Another Concern is the noisiness, I was under the impression this was an issue in models of the past but it's "Very Noticeable" when on the highway in this 2013 model as well The Drivers seat squeaks now as if it needs to be oiled.
Given only has a 30 day warrenty I wasn't hearing these noises or having the concerns again until after the warrenty expired now I'm hearing it quite frequently, and the slight jerking noise is a little more noticeable as well. I'm taking it to a Chevy Dealer in my area with hopes the Chevy warrenty will cover these problems. I really love this car otherwise. it's spacious inside, I love the trunk space, the sound system, sunroof, and the luxury items of this LTZ version.
