I took my Chevy 2013 Captiva to the Chevy dealership in Lancaster California per my engine light was on I was advised that it was my catalytic converter going out after I've only had the car for 2 years. I kept the car there and replaced the catalytic converter, they gave me two different loaner cars at the time of the repairs that took almost 3 weeks when I picked up my car at Chevy after I paid the money the car started shaking and jerking and it had a very bad smell. I drove it back around to the mechanics and they said it's because we just put the catalytic converter on but at that point it tells me that they didn't do a test drive or burn test on the catalytic converter why I was having Burning Sensations in my throat and my nose before I made it home the car started jerking.
I called them and said I will bring the car back first thing in the morning due to when I pick it up it was really late in the evening. The next morning as I proceeded to drive my son to school I'm sitting at a stoplight and the car jerks so hard my son's phone flew out his hand the dealership told me that if I didn't fix my catalytic converter my engine was going to go out. So I drove my car back to the dealership in less than 24 hours they kept my car for a few more days gave me another loner called me back once and said we can't figure out what's going on with your car. I then proceeded to ask them has anyone test drove it yet a day later they called and said they test drove the car and they feel what I'm feeling and they'll take a look.
By Thursday I'm told to bring the rental car back and come pick up my car that there's nothing I can do because there's there's aluminum in my engine and my engines going to go out anyway when I just gave them $1,600 to replace the catalytic converter and they said the same thing. Now I also have OnStar who does monthly diagnostic test on my vehicle and OnStar says that the dealership uses their diagnostic code to find out what's wrong with the vehicle however they advised me that on starts codes didn't make any sense and I advised OnStar what they said as well.
This sucks because they offered to fix my engine if I would come up with $1,150 within 30 days and they will pay for the rest they also have offered me free oil changes and I have been receiving oil changes since March pretty much every month absolutely free free air cabin and everything but my engine still going to go out because I do not have $1,150 to fix when a mechanic told me when I put your catalytic converter on it's a possibility something shot up in your engine which shows that Chevy is at fault but they want me to pay for my engine my 30 days is now up because I haven't been able to get the money so now I have a car that I paid 425 month I owe $13,000 and Chevy advising me that my car is worth $5,000 and I've only had the car for two and a half years.
