The Chevy transmission problems are unheard of. They state they have lifetime fluid in the transmission, we had it checked out at a third party garage and the fluid was incredibly dirty, they stated. This was 6,000kms after the last service (done at 74,000kms). I think that one of the problems may be the lifetime fluid that is only made for very short lifetimes. Every 10,000kms a top-up is done but no fluid change or flush. What broke down is apparently the gear assembly.
Cost of fixing is easily $3,000 and that's almost half of the car's value. The response I got from the dealer yesterday: "It's your choice to fix it or not". Great, will never buy a Chevrolet again.
