While driving, the tapshift lever was caught in the key ring attached to the key in the ignition. This caused the car to shift out of gear, as if being put into neutral, so that the car slowed very suddenly and dangerously. This occurred several times throughout the day, until we realized that the tapshift lever was only able to get caught on the keyring when the steering wheel was fully lowered. Adjusting the steering wheel height resolved the issue.
Recall notice 14V346 received for ignition key replacement from GM in August 2014 and dealer notice of past due service recall for this same safety issue also received November 2014. When I called today to get my 2014 Camaro safety repaired the service provider at the dealer where I purchased the vehicle said the parts are on back order and would not make an appointment for the safety repair"! she advised me to call back in 10 days. GM must really be concerned about my safety to not have safety recall parts available for repairs. Also, I previously purchased an additional ignition key with transmitter from the dealer for this vehicle. Why will GM not also replace this transmitter/ignition key under this safety recall"
