This is now the 4th major repair on this Camaro. I do not beat it up and I take very good care of it. I will also say this again, I may be a woman, but I know how to drive a stick shift. Been doing it for 35 years and I know not to leave my foot on the clutch. Also this clutch only had 40000 miles on it and again it shouldn't have gone out after this low mileage.
I took it to the dealership and they informed me that the clutch was going out and I had to give them $1000.00 so they could open the car up. When they did, the fly wheel had missing parts, the clutch was toast and my transmission was leaking. I asked if they were going to gift me this new issue or would I have to call Chevy in Michigan. They said it was user error and they wouldn't pay, nor is it covered under warranty. I called Chevy and of course had to leave a message.
It took the dealership 4 days to offer me a rental car because it was finally determined that they had to replace seals in the transmission which was still covered under extended warranty, however I had to pay for parts for the clutch. They quoted me $2000.00. Now if I didn't have the extended warranty, I would not have had this covered. So, again they couldn't find parts and had to call Chevy in Michigan.
After 2 weeks, I went to pick up the car and it was explained that since they had to open the clutch up that they were not charging me the labor cost of 7 hours, the warranty for the transmission covered that, however I had to pay for the clutch parts and 1 hour labor. I complained and they said this was the best that they could do. So, I went to my car and it hadn't been washed, it was filthy and I was absolutely irate. I left and called Chevy Michigan and they said I am only entitled to 1 gifting per car and I received that on the first time the clutch went out.
I am not happy with Chevy...I should NOT have these problems, but I do. I just paid the car off 5 months ago and I don't want to get rid of it because I swear what else is there to fix...but I said that 4 times already. ARGH!!!
