This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The contact owns a 2001 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact was driving in rainy weather conditions approximately 65 mph and encountered a bump in the road. Suddenly, the anti-lock brake system and skid control system warning light indicators illuminated. The tires and brakes locked when pressure was applied to the brake pedal causing the vehicle to skid off of the roadway. The contact was able to gain control and continue normal operation. The failure occurred on bumpy road surfaces. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the technician repositioned the anti-lock brake system bracket and parking brake cable. Also, the ABS wiring was replaced. The failure mileage was unknown.
Disk brake rotors. The disk brake rotors warp so often that they constantly need turned or replaced. I have had them turned at approx 11000 miles and they already need attention again. They make intermitant noise and you can feel the wobble when you go to stop. Looking on the internet this is a very common complaint with this vehicle and the brake rotors.
