The vehicle jerked backwards when accelerating from a complete stop. Also, the vehicle jerked when automatically shifting gears. The engine check light illuminated. The dealer did a diagnostic test, and could not determine the cause of the problem. A transmission kit was added but the problem still occurred. The transmission was rebuilt. The consumer was informed to drive in overdrive when traveling long distance but this did not work. The brakes were noisy, the rear coil spring were rubbing when stopping, the water pump and intake gaskets leaked, the alternator was replaced due to the engine not starting on one occasion, and there was a 3-4 second valve binding.
With the electrical system of this car the headlights will dim a considerable amount, the battery gauge drops from normal into the red (left side), the windows will run slow, the heat/air will also run slow. The vehicle was brought back to the dealer four (4) times, once to have the alternator replaced, the other three (3) times for testing. The problem still occurs, and they can not find a problem. This was also reported and documented to Chevrolet, but according to Chevrolet, the problem is normal.
Gauges went wild. Alternator was going out/replaced alternator. Also, 2 fluid leaks from rear shocks occurred 21-Jan-99. Dealer contacted, and cannot remedy the problem. Problems still exists. Warranty only 2 months. Provide further information.
