I can't explain how terrible this is, ive started doing my research on the car to find that there was a recall in effect for the 99 model year car. My car was manufactured in Canada, GM refused to provide me with where in Canada my car was manufactured, or the origin of the recall. I spoke with a phone operator who refused to transfer me to a manager to further discuss the situation being very evasive "our managers are not taking calls at this point, if you wish to know about your vehicle please visit the owners home page." His reasoning for not being able to disclose this information to me was 1st that there was no way of knowing the vehicles history since 1999, I followed with "i have all of the service documents in the glove box of the car from 1999." Clarke then said that he could never access this information anyways. The specific recall number is: 99V239000. I really wish GM would take more action towards accountability. I have already had issues with them about my 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix that I no longer own because of its extreme unreliability. The only reason this is so aggravating is because they only seem to fix the seriously dangerous ones like the engine compartment fires for the 3800 series 2 engines that were mass produced in everything back in the day. The sad part is I believe there were three recalls for that very incident and they still cant seem to fix it, along with denying accountability to some cars they never would issue a VIN specific recall to, I live next to a guy who has a 98 Grand Prix and his actually caught fire. When he called GM, they searched with the VIN, and what do you know there was no open recall but the car still caught fire, and they still denied accountability.
