This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I have a 1998 Chevy Camaro where the lower rack and pinion steering had to be fixed and was looking at a recall for 97-98 recalls and found the same problem with similar cars from Chevy, I think they overlooked the Camaro's I called Chevy and put in a complaint with them bit don't think anything will come from it, I think it's more than concidence that my car has the exact same problem as the other similar Chevrolet what can be done?
Steering is making a noise, and was told it is caused by defective rack opinion. Also, told it is not repairable. Consumer might be riding down the road and lose complete control.
