Wheel speed sensor fails, causing the anti lock brakes to engage, making the car take a significantly longer stopping distance. I am afraid it is going to end in a crash. Not covered under the warranty, even though it is a safety issue.

This loss of control at normal speeds may have caused similar accident several months ago. There was no ticket issued. The cause was listed as "locking of the ABS braking system". we believe that the GM ABS system has a high degreee of probability of being very dangerous. We would like to know how many similar reports have been lodged and recommend a factory replacement or adjustment to this potentiually dangerous system in the 1996 cars.
