The 1996 k1500 5.0L has a Technical Service Bulletin that the pcm likes to ground out inside the pcm. there is a simple repair kit available from the dealership that re-routes the grounding for the pcm. i believe that the kit is only $50 but i paid $100 for a shop to do it for me. this TSB only applies to the 1996 k1500 5.0L
