The brake lights and hazard lights were not working, there was no recall but a service bulletin. It has been fixed twice, and currently consumer has to pay out of pocket to fix it. Called the dealership, they had no record. But went to mechanic shop, they had a record. Contacted GM, they also had it on record for the bulletin, and they contacted the dealer. This first happened about a week ago on July 10, 2005. Replaced the battery, but the brake lights and hazard lights did not work, checked the fuses, and went to repair shop the put in new switches and still did not.
Brake lights and hazard lights do not work. Spoke to GM and they said that there is a recall for this issue, but my VIN didn't qualify. Was told by GM to pay for the repairs, and that they would reimburse if a new recall was issued. Called dealer and was quoted $360 for the repair.
While driving at any speed stop lamps and rear hazard lamps malfunctioned. Dealer indicated sorry this vehicle was not included in the recall. (recall number 01V-364)
