The cable on the lumbar support adjuster broke on driver's side fromt seat. Lumbar support in now non-functional. Also, clunking in suspension of passenger side front suspension. Aware of recall for control arm bushing and ball joints. Apparrently, excessive wear due to lack of or poor lubrication.
My car has had two recliner mechanizms break in 2 years. My security lights come on for no reason, my paint is checking and peeling.now it appears that my control arm and lower ball joint were failing at 85,000 miles. At about 70,000 miles my 4wheel drive would slip in and out at freeway speed. I have a 1999 Chevy Blazer,4dr, completely maintained and driven with care.
Front wheel hub on on front driver and passenger side had to be replaced several times due to a grinding noise when driving. Idler arm and ball joint were also replaced.
Vehicle was pulling to side and steering wheel had too much play. Dealer replaced idler arm. Did not remedy the problem. On 10 April 2002 right front upper and lower ball joints were replaced. Reported by david bluman.
Clunking sound in the front of vehicle. Took for alignment and was told that the problem was a loose ball joint. When we contacted the dealer for this problem, we were told that the ball joint could not be loose. They check and could not find a problem because everything was satisfactory according to factory testing. We are still experiencing this problem.
Consumer took vehicle in for clunking noises. Dealer came back with ball joint and axle needing to be replaced. Dealer is getting together with district manager in that area to start recall. Dealership is trying to send back every ball joint and axle. Noise is coming from passenger's front side. Axle has a clamp that's not self adjusting, a machine is needed. Grease is leaking out of axle. Ball joints have to play. If repaired dealer said problem will reoccur later on.
