At times the A/C, windshield wipers, and dash lights would not work. Chevy dealer could not find the problem, but said the problem had to be occurring at the time they were checking it($350). Took it to a alternator/starter service and was told the battery had a dead cell. New battery plus electrical test($150). Picked up Blazer and drove 1?4 mile and noticed battery not charging, A/C not working, and no dash lights. Returned to alternator, starter service and turned it off. Owner came out, told him of the problem. He started it, everything worked. He move the ignition key slightly, without turning the car off, and electrical problems began again. New ignition switch installed($287). The ignition switch controls all the electrical parts. Now it works like new.

I have been told that my battrery was bad and after 3 new battery's and a alternator I still have a drain and I had it tested for any bad code's and it said everything was good. I could not find anybody who know what was causing the drain or how to fix it.

Blazer LS V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 141,000 miles

This vehicle ran 3 weeks after I bought it then wouldn't start, Jumped it, it ran another 2-3 weeks, dead again, jumped, runs for a month about then dead again, took to CHEVY DEALER who changed out the battery for the 4th time swearing that it is the battery. I kept telling them we had replaced the battery 3 times prior, well my battery wasn't strong enough rip off rip off and SOLD me a new battery supposedly better and stronger. Went approx a week dead, jumped it, another week dead again. 200.00 for a battery I didn't need, I am so angry I told them over and over it isn't the battery. They claim it showed no codes and alternator and starter test fine. Guaranteed me it was the battery. I called the day it wouldn't start and never received a response form these people. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER NEW OR USED vehicle from them ever!!!
