Consumer heard a noise coming from the right front of the vehicle. Dealer inspected the vehicle, and found no defects. Consumer was concerned that the lower control arm was defective.
Front lower control arm broke, resulting in loss of control. Contacted dealer, and dealer stated that this vehicle was not included in recall 01V200000 due to VIN. Vehicle is outside of recall region (rust belt)
Dealership refused to honor recall. Dealer claimed there was nothing wrong with lower control arms. But after a state inspection, vehicle failed due to bad lower control arms. Dealer still refuseed to honor recall.
Consumer received recall 01V200000 notice concerning lower control arm failure. Consumer repaired recall problem in February prior to recall. Consumer was seeking reimbursement, but Chevrolet refused to reimburse because consumer did not use GMC parts.
