I have had to change the oil coolant lines on my 1996 S-10 Blazer 5 times since I have owned the auto. I purcheased it in 1998. It was still under warranty then, and the first time they did the work free of charge. Since then, every 12-18 months I find oil dripping in my garage, and I am told it is these lines. I have been told by 3 different mechanics that these vehicles are notorious for this problem. Can't anything be done!!
Engine check light illuminated, resulting in hard shifting from first to second gear. Dealership reviewed vehicle; however found no defect, and suggested to have transmission replaced.
An electrical short is causing dome lights and dash lights to be inoperable. Also, engine service light illuminates when air conditioner is running. Dealer has serviced vehicle. However, problem has reorccurred.
I have 2 recalls and I would need to pay for my own transportation to and from the dealership... I don't think this is fair as I didn't ask for the 2 recalls... no safety defect mentioned.
This car was purchased on 10/25/97. Since then, the weatherstripping on three doors has had to be replaced three different times. Each time the weatherstripping failed, the car leaked flooding the floorboards. As a result, the carpet has had to be replaced twice. The first incident was 12/02/97, the second 1/19/98 and the most recent 9/08/99 the dealer and the manufacturer both agree that although it does sound like a manufacturer's defect, they are no longer responsible because the vehicle is no longer under warranty. No safety defect (s) listed in the summary.
The consumer stated that his vechicle was driving on highway. Another vechicle jumped in front of him he applied his brakes and he hit the car in front of him.
Brakes: Since owning the vehicle, it has been towed three times for transmission. Transmission replaced once, computer chip for transmission, but they say there is nothing wrong with transmission. Engine check light is constantly coming on, and the light for the ABS is also coming on.
