This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
While driving at any speed, the consumer heard a loud noise and the vehicle started to vibrate uncontrollably. The consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle and drove it to a private mechanic for inspection. The mechanic informed the consumer that the upper and lower ball joints needed to be replaced.
The upper ball joint failed while I was turning in to my driveway. The front wheel then folded under making it impossible to drive. If I had been traveling on an interstate, surely I would have lost control and possibly would have "rolled" the vehicle several times. This problem was identified under a NHTSA campaign id #95V080000. When I called the Chevrolet hotline (1 800 222 1020) I was told that my VIN was not covered by this recall. I was given a request #C02430111. I believe this recall should be expanded to cover all Blazer, especially since my repair bill for this is almost the same wording as was used in the campaign number previously mentioned.
