: the consumer stated the fuel tank is leaking. There is a NHTSA recall # 96V234000, regarding the tank assembly. The consumer experienced the same problem as indicated in the recall. The vehicle identification number was not included in the recall.
Recall 96V234000 repairs on fuel tank assembly performed December 1996. Additional aluminum/shield was falling off from tank. This was part of the recall.
Consumer states that the vehicle is leaking fuel onto the engine. Contacted dealer and the dealer noted that the vehicle is not included in the recall.
Possible design defect in the fuel pump/central port injector, failed on two occasions due to same defect. Also, fuel leveel varies from empty to fullwhen driving vehicle.

The fuel tank sucked up flat to the bottom of vehicle, causing all the fuel to leak out. The fuel tank has been replaced (3) times because of this within a (4) month period.
Front seat bracket wore through leather material, also seat rocks due to loose bolt; replaced brakes/ front windshield wipers failed/ during inclement weather/ steering becoming vauge at center and fuel gauge failure.
