4 egr valves (and I have got to put the 5th one on now) in the last 3 years $200 each. 2 cmfi units because of the fuel pressure regulator leaking the whole unit has to be replaced $500 each. Fuel pumps $80 each transmission has slipped at different times. Cooling is a problem it has never overheated but it would like to in the summer. I am a mechanic and all of my cars are taken care of to the slightest detail but it is not normal to replace this stuff more than a couple of times in the life of a car much less a couple of times a year.
Central port injector assy has failed three times and has been replaced. Fuel pump and/or fuel pump pulsator has failed 4 times and has been replaced. Vehice stalls when braking hard if fuel tank has less than 1/4 tank of gas.

Have had major engine problems since first year of ownership. Had to replace battery 3 times (first time within first year), have been stranded because of a "no-start" problem 6 times since purchase, dealer and two other mechanics cannot find cause, brakes have a very poor performance and must be replaced frequently, fuel pump replaced, ignition replaced, now the engine has "blown" all on a vehicle that has been properly maintained and not abused. This is the most unreliable, costly, stress-cuasing vehicle I have ever owned and I would like Chevrolet to take some responsibility for a very poorly built (lemon) car.
Car does not start when facing down hill. Hard starting, replaced fuel pump 1400 miles ago needs another after 4 months needed towed again because of failure.
While driving the vehicle the battery light came on and the tackometer went to "0, " and the car had no power at all. The repair station stated that the fuel pump and wiring was burned out. Parts were replaced; the fusible link and the fuel pump were replaced, and there was a short. The power wire behind the dash was rubbed raw. Dealer cannot duplicate the problem.
Consumer has been experiencing an ongoing problem with defective fuel pumps and relay switches. In less then three years consumer has replaced four fuel pumps and two sets of relay switches. Dealer notified and informed consumer's problem is not on recall.
Consumer has a problem with enigine. When the vehicle gets up to 50mph or coming to a stop sign the vehicle will lose power, causing the enigine to shut down in the middle of traffic. Dealer has been contacted. 1.battery leaking 2.left front seat is ripped 3.starter dies 4. brake work sometimes. 5. truck shakes when starting code for egr valve stick. 6. stalling 3-4 times hesatation and no power. 7. heater won't shut off. While driving vehicle stalls for no reason. Numerous parts have been replaced, such as fuel pump/ spark plugs/ cpi injector and egr valve, sensor, lock cylinder, battery, 3-2 shift solenoid, fuel filter, and performed fuel pressure test. Problem remains.
Driving 60mph when vehicle stalled out or died. Had to take to dealer & mechanic replaced fuel pump. Problem had reoccurred since 3/6/98 when pump was replaced. Also, steering wheel would lock up. Problem happened after fuel pump was replaced.
