THIS VEHICLE WAS TO BE MY LAST CAR SINCE I HAD CHOOSEN TO RETIRE OCT.31,2014...My plans were to see the "USA IN MY CHEVROLET". On Jan 26, in rush hour traffic at stop light notice smoke from beneath hood the car stalled, after @ an hour managed to restart and drive into a shopping mall, found out needed coolant...which was no problem because I knew it was time for inspection for state.
After getting to a Mechanic it was recommend to call GM to see if the were warranties on the timing chain and water pump and damaged spark plugs...of course no luck. I went from $590 repair to @$1600 repair. What I can't understand is I purchased a new car 2008 Chev Aveo, put on the road Oct.31,2007 ,Oct. 31, 2014 I retired, @32,000 miles, to and from work, less than 10 miles a day, 5,6,sometimes 7 days a week-
All my Life I have owed a Chevrolet never to have this kind experience with any of my vehicles, because I can't afford to spend this amount of money for a repair... my car will now sit in my garage. I would like to know if there were any recalls that I missed during my years of working and did not receive any warning or alerts for recalls. I had concerns shortly after purchase because the engine would idle high and the car would shake. I was told that the engine was new and had to adjust by the Chevy dealership Bill Heard service tech, the purchase was made at Bill Heard Chevrolet in Houston, Texas, the next year he filed Bankruptcy.
Went to several Chevy dealerships afterwards because the problem persisted only to be treated like I had a disease until I went to Champion/now AutoNation and met one of the most customer service oriented persons who explained to me any concerns of my auto. They tried to resolve the issues of the idling and shaking of my vehicle nothing could be. I would like to return to work to pay for the repairs but I have no transportation. My car is economical for gas mileage, size perfect, major imperfections ...just my size had great plans to enjoy and go places now 1 year to date for my state inspection I have a vehicle parked non running car....DISAPPOINTING...."CAN'T SEE MY USA"
