The 3 cracks in my dash are so bad it vibrates will driving. Now my in-dash speaker bolts that hold it broke from the vibrations. I'm not sure what to do now.
BROUGHT VEHICLE NEW FEB. 2011. THIS IS MY 3RD AVALANCHE. VEHICLE IS MOSTLY USED FOR FAMILY VACATIONS. DASHBOARD CRACKED ON TOP IN TWO PLACES. ONE LEFT OF CENTER ,2ND BY PASSENGER AIR BAG. ALSO LEFT HUB BEARING NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. TRUCK HAS 30,000 MILES ON IT. NEVER DRIVEN OFF ROAD OR USED FOR HEAVY HAULING.
I TAKE CARE OF MY AVALANCHE! I AM THE ONE THAT DRIVES IT MOST AND I THINK THE DASH SHOULDN'T CRACK BUT I SEEN TWO THAT HAVE THE SAME CRACK! I THINK THAT THIS SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY! THIS AVALANCHE COSTS TOO MUCH FOR THIS TO HAPPEN! COME ON GMC OR CHEVROLET LETS FIX IT!
Update from Dec 30, 2017: still waiting for dash repair on my 2011 avalanche! what you all waiting for someone to get hart or get killed in a accident or just waiting for air bag to go off!
Cracked right at edge of airbag on passenger side. I have seen numerous photos of Tahoe and Avalanche of crack in same spot, this is a defect. The dash is two pieces. The larger piece has a speaker mounted in middle beneath it. This dash is attached to upper dash via a lever catch in middle, as you go over uneven roads with potholes and such the dash bounces slightly and over time the plastic weakens
Lots of vibration and noise coming from dash, keeping my fingers crossed that the air bag doesn't deploy. I have an extended warranty, but they consider the dash as trim and that's not covered. I understand the cracked dash is known to happen in Avalanche's, why hasn't GM done something to correct this problem or issued a call back to repair or replace?
