As I was driving my Avalanche the stability track and traction control turned on my truck reduced power to half and it pulled right. I drove into lots of dirt and my brakes were affected too. I have been having issues with my 2007 avalance stabilitrak traction control turning off intermitingly. I have had my truck to the dealer 3 times on this issue and I am still with the same problem. This started over a year ago and when bringing it in for service there were no codes found for this problem. Today after picking up my truck once again and paying the dealer to replace the remote control door lock receiver being one of the codes showing this did not solve the problem and the part removed was still good. It seems to me that the service dept at the Chevy dealer has no clue on how to solve this problem. Everytime I start my truck even sitting at idle the bell starts chiming and the triangle signand the warning reads service stabilitrak then service traction control (off) activates within a few miniuts. This keeps going on and off as I am driving and when its in the off position the trans shifts gears very hard. Looking trough this forum I can see that this had been a major problem in the past with 2003 and up and there are many people talking aboutthis issue with their trucksbut I have not come across anyone who can give the answer on how to resolve this problem. Dose anyone else have this problem or have heard of this being a problem with an answer.

2007 Chevy Avalanche I believe should be included in this recall #1: 2004-2012 Chevrolet Malibu, 2004-2007 Chevrolet Malibu maxx, 2005-2010 Pontiac G6, 2007-2010 Saturn aura. The vehicle, when scanned is producing an error code of P0573- cruise control/brake switch a circuit. As a result of this error the functionality of my cruise control is jeopardized, rendering the vehicles cruise control at sometimes useless, not functional or worse disengaging without warrant causing a safety concern while driving.

I am a soldier with 17yrs of active duty service and I was home over the weekend for the mlk weekend with my family. I leave Monday morning about 0900am to return back to my home station and my truck was driving fine, I stopped at a red light to make a left turn and when the light turned green I accelerated to about 5-10mph then there was a clunking noise and my vehicle would not accelerate anymore it would just send the rpms up so I drifted off the road and put my vehicle in park because I just had my vehicle serviced. I checked all my fluids and they all were fine so I put my vehicle in reverse worked fine, selected drive and it wouldn't move, selected 3rd gear wouldn't move, selected 2nd gear truck would move, and selected 1st the truck would move. There I was with my wife and my 2 daughters and mother-N-law on the side of the road in nc, luckily we didn't get that far from my in-laws home and they called a local shop that towed my vehicle back to her home. I have always wanted an Avalanche but I get on the computer and I start reading about other people who have had the same problem and that is shocking, and to happen under a 100K miles. This is not my 1st Chevy vehicle I have owned as well, I have owned a Chevy trailblazer ltz that the four wheeled drive went out on that I purchase for my wife, so I traded that in for the 07 trailblazer ss that my wife really loved and that vehicle ended having an electrical fire from the wiring harness and my vehicle sat down at the dealership for almost a month until I notified them that something has to happen in which they let me trade that vehicle in for a Honda Accord in which I haven't had any issues out of that my wife is currently driving. In my reading last night when I finally made it back home after borrowing a car from my nephew that just happens to be another Honda Accord and I see all these stories posted horrible.

Traveling on freeway at approx 55 mph with cruise control engaged. Accelerated to pass truck, when let off the accelerator my truck went into passing gear and accelerated rapidly to 80+mph. Applied brake and attempted to disengage cruise control. Neither worked. Place vehicle in neutral and rpms went to approx 6500 RPM, then motor shut off. Coasted to side should. Police was behind me and wrote me a ticket for 80 mph. Officer was not interested in listening to problems I had encountered. Wrote me a ticket for $728.93. Approx 1.5 hours later I was returning home and tried cruise control. It immediately accelerated into passing gear and would not disengage. I put the truck into neutral and rpms went to over 6000rpm and shut off motor. Depressing brake peddle would not disengage cruise control.stopped on side restarted truck and disengaged cruise control. I was successful on the disengage. I did not use the cruise control any more and reported issue to Chevrolet dealer. Two weeks later, I was parked in front of a store. When I started the truck and put intro reverse, the truck accelerated at high rate. Applied brake and shut the engine off. I removed the cruise control/rear camera fuse. It did not disable the cruise control. I have not driven the truck since. Waiting for appointment with local dealer to have investigated.

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche. While driving approximately 70 mph, the accelerator pedal engaged itself without manual application. This caused the vehicle to dramatically accelerate. The brakes failed to work. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer for a diagnostic, but no error codes appeared. The manufacturer has not provided a resolution. The failure and current mileages were 38,000. Updated 3/16/09 updated 03/18/09.
