First appeared while on interstate with cruise control on and when I turned on lane change signal to the left. Cruise stopped, chimes sounded, abs light came on, door locked clicked. Reset cruise control. When signaled to change lane to right, cruise stooped, chimes, door locks clicked, and air bag light came on. This has repeated several times. When vehicle turned off and restarted back to normal until it happened a week later. Same thing.
Truck would not start, completely dead, no power locks, no nothing. Had to call AAA to jump start - said battery tested OK but when everything shut off still showed small amp draw. Hadn't started previously for 20 hours...if not for AAA roadside premium assistance would be dead in water. During this same time I'm getting weird tire pressure sensor notifications on the DIC and also check air bag sensor on DIC
Same problem as reported on 5/23 - battery completely dead and needed AAA to jump start. Still getting weird messages on DIC for tire sensor pressure AND service air bag...Dealer ran diagnostics this time and kicked out P0038 code to check airbag sensor module at which time I also alerted dealer to the cracked dashboard above the airbag on console and I expressed my extreme dissatisfaction with GM's unwillingness to fix this known problem with the 07' Avalanche - There are hundreds off complaints with this known issue on internet. Dealer no help here.
today 1/04/09 drove to lowe's. left store, truck wouldn't start. needed a jump. I've had the truck three weeks, have had electrical problems three times. holidays have delayed trip back to dealer. Checked web for these problems, doesn't look good.Glad I bought extended warranty.

I have owned this Avalanche for 1 year, I drive a lot, put 68000 miles on in year. A few months ago, my drivers door electronics fried completely, they repaired that, said there was a "better, heavier duty" harness offered by GM. About a month later my truck started giving me crazy garbage displays on info screen, gauges would die, and upon shutting truck off, it would not start by any means. Neither with key, or remote. After letting it sit for approx 30 minutes, it would start. The dealer replaced the ignition switch, said it was all set, then the next day it did the exact same thing. This time I didn't think I was going to get it started, called for tow, then approx 40 minutes later it started, I drove it back to dealer, now they are going to try the BCM, body control module. Said they got it to replicate the problem and it gave them a bunch of "codes". I work out of this vehicle, so it is a huge hassle to transfer all my equipment over to rental this often. Will post again.
