Discovered that upon buying my used 2004 Chevy Avalanche Z71 5.3 V8
that along with the other problems, faulty gauge cluster, burned out dash control lights, 4x4 engage problem, faulty window regulator switch.............THAT oh boy......my back speakers don't work AT ALL.
Now you could blame the previous owner.....maybe they cranked them. But from the guys I've talked to who fix this type of stuff i've listed above.....GM has been using really poor speakers in many of their smaller cars and other vehicles in the lineup.
So i put the fader to the front , and the fronts play great, the back not at all, not even a crackle......zip.
So i was going to take the back door panel off but it was kind of a pain.....got half way into it and decided ....i am having the other stuff fixed too....ill just pay to have it done.
So they put in Kenwood 6 1/2" 3-Way Car Speaker (KFC-1693PS) in the back. Paid around $89 for the speakers. So the whole job was around $200 by the time speakers+labor install came in.
Now it is fine with the new speakers. (i should mention i am not a audio crazy person for the car ....could care less what the care has for a sound system other than it works).
