CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2003 Chevy Astro Van has a solid reputation with very low complaint rates. The only problem now is finding one with low miles. Read more »
Not only is the 2003 Astro Van reliable, but since they were built on a truck powertrain, they can tow 5,500/5,000 lbs (RWD/AWD) -- almost double what other minivans can.
The Chevy Astro is mechanically identical to the GMC Safari.

service dept replaced distributor cap and rotor (1 reports)
The van is a 2003, but I purchased it in 2004 brand new. Only 22,000 miles on it and during a horrible snow and ice storm our power in our home went out for 4 days. Then on top of that the van won't turn over. Purchased a new battery, and still nothing. Had to have it towed in on a Friday afternoon. The service dept closed early Saturday, I guess because of the weather and didn't get to work on it until Monday. Finally got it back, the warranty covered everything but I missed a lot of work. It turned out to be moisture around the distributor cap. I asked for a courtesy car none available. What a terrible experience.
