CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2002 Chevy Astro Van has a solid reputation with very low complaint rates. The only problem now is finding one with low miles.
Not only is the 2002 Astro Van reliable, but since they were built on a truck powertrain, they can tow 5,500/5,000 lbs (RWD/AWD) -- almost double what other minivans can.
The Chevy Astro is mechanically identical to the GMC Safari.

I have recently purchased a new custom van from this dealership. My rear seatbelts are not installed properly, therefore, I can not provide safe transportation for my grandchildren. The dealer and the GM representative have been extremely non-cooperative as well as GM contractor who customized the van. I am turning to you for any assistance. I pray that you can help my wife and I with a resolution to this problem. I feel we are being taken advantage of because of our age and we can not fight back (attorney) because of our limited income. Thank you.
Consumer states that the back bench seat belts are too long, when the seat belts are put on, they lay off of the childrens rib cages near their sides, the seat belts do not fit children or adults correctly, they were replaced with shorter belts, but they are still too long, dealer stated that they would move the bolts back to make them shorter, however later stated they could not due to liability reasons.
