The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac XTS. The contact stated that while his son and wife were driving back to the residence at an undisclosed speed, there was a loud sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact-??s son pulled over to inspect the vehicle. The contact-??s son called and asked for assistance. After the contact arrived on the scene and inspected the vehicle, the contact became aware that there was a crack on the narrow flange of the catalytic converter. The contact started the vehicle and saw that the check engine warning light was illuminated, and there was an abnormally loud sound coming from the exhaust system. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the vehicle inspected; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The contact was informed that the catalytic converter had a massive crack and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 82,208.

The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac XTS. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH, there was an abnormally loud sound coming from the engine. The contact stated exhaust started entering the cabin of the vehicle through the vents before the vehicle started losing motive power. The vehicle was driven to the residence and parked. The contact later discovered that the front catalytic converter had separated from the exhaust manifold and was touching the radiator fan. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The contact was informed of an unknown TSB related to the failure. The failure mileage was 84,000. The contact stated that there was no deterioration found to explain the cause of the failure.
