The contact owns a 2022 Cadillac XT5. The contact stated that the vehicle was equipped with the auto seat belt tightening feature. The contact stated that the feature tightened the seat belt to secure the occupant; however, the passenger-??s side seat belt continued to tighten while driving at various speeds. The contact stated that his wife tucked her arms in between the lap belt and the seat belt tension was released. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where he was informed that there was no fault with the feature and that the feature operated as needed. The contact was also informed that the feature could not be turned off. The manufacturer had been notified of the issue but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 41.
