A head bolt was broken in the middle of the engine, my mechanic feels it was likely over-torqued right from the factory and it finally let go causing anti freeze to totally flood the engine block. This caused extensive damage to the heads and block. The only solution was to replace the engine with a used one at great expense. The automobile has been meticulously maintained from the beginning, never abused or left idle. Maintenance has always been kept up, and to have this happen just over 100K on an engine. For an automobile that costs above average, that has been always babied....ticks me off to no end. NEVER again will I purchase another North American automobile...no wonder the big three aren't the big three any more. I remember when I was growing up, engines that had 250,000 miles on it was a common thing, not today. Quality and workmanship has gone the way of the dinosaur it seems.
