Purchase extended warranty which totally excludes these headlamps. As I read the online issues and the number of complaints the fact GM is not taking responsibility is UFB.
How many cars have been driven in this country? How many cars have water in the headlamps? Is GM seriously making a statement that this is not an issue? Hey GM are you ignoring this problem as the problems with The Mark 14 torpedo were ignored? How many lives could be lost because of the fogging of the lamps and the reduction of lighting?
See Becerra v. GENERAL MOTORS LLC, 241 F. Supp. 3d 1094 - Dist. Court, SD California 2017. Plaintiffs allege that Defendant manufactured trucks that "were sold with inadequate 1102*1102 headlights which do not illuminate the road well enough for safe night driving" and that "give[ ] drivers much less time to identify and react to other cars, pedestrians, or obstacles." (ECF No. 23 at ¶ 1).
When the lamps cloud from the moisture they do not illuminate the road. The issue may become GM's ability to put this responsibility back on the owner as we are driving with cloudy headlamps and we should have taken the required action to make the required repairs to render our vehicles safe for the road again.
We cannot allow them this opportunity.
