This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Stabilitrak (etc) engaged during highway driving on dry road nearly causing a wreck by slowing the vehicle abruptly below 20mph. "engine power reduced" illuminated. Accelerator position sensor (aps) code in the ECM. Less than 6000 miles after dealer replacement of aps and fixing connections, same dangerous slow down from highway speeds. Events not reproduced for dealer.
While driving on the highway, the stabilitrak and check engine warning indicator lights come on. Next a warning reads, "engine running at reduced power" and the car slows down. When I cut the car off and restart, the warning indicator lights reset and the car will drive normal.
