Headlights too dim. Dealer says filament is gone/melted and lights need to be replaced for $1527.53. There is a class action law suit regarding this issue.

The lights on this car have been an issue from the time of purchase! first we thought the lights needed to be adjusted. Dealership told us they are adjusted perfectly. I cannot drive this car at night! I will kill someone or myself! contacted dealership again & was told they could meet us halfway for replacement. Cadillac is very aware of this. I've researched this problem & know other owners have the same problem. I tell everyone not to purchase a Cadillac because they do not stand behind their flaws. I want to include my name so that when my husband has to bury me from getting killed in an accident he will have proof that the complaint was made to our government as well as numerous times to the dealership. It is going to take the death of one or more persons and an outrageous negligent lawsuit for GM to get on board with this problem. I've even made a file for my husband to access to give to attorney upon my death. Thank you GM, at least my husband will be able to buy a new Ford! sincerely, [xxx] car was purchased from ron taylor Cadillac in houston, tx information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I bought a used Cadillac. Within a few weeks I noticed that I could not see at night. I thought it was my eyesight. I later bought a hd light bulb for $200 and had it installed for another $250(you need to remove the bumper to replace the bulbs on this car). Yet there is no difference, it has gotten worse and dangerous. I just came back from the dealer and he wanted to change the whole light assembly or go get after market assembly. On a hunch I researched online and saw that this was a rampant problem with Srx's all over the country

While driving our car at night we encounter poor visibility to almost no visibility. Bright beams work but we can't drive legally with bright beams on. This has occurred always at night, on the highway, on city streets and traveling through the mountains. On a dark night, the light cast is so poor that the lane lines are not visible. I have had several near hits due to this problem and I wonder if other vehicles aren't seeing our car. This headlight system is dangerous and could be deadly. The most recent episode was while driving through the mountains from Tennessee to Ohio.

I have a 2013 Cadillac Srx the low beams are so dim you cannot see five feet in front of the car! there have been tons of other people with the same Cadillac and same exact problem. They will not do a recall and this is a serious safety issue driving at night. There has to be somehow to get GM to fix this issue before someone gets seriously injured! I am having to try and replace these poorly designed lights that do not provide enough safe road visibility with after market headlamps. I do not believe I should be required to pay for these replacement lights but I do not want any of my family members to die in a crash caused by these oem lights. GM should setup a nationwide recall on all of these vehicles fitted with these lights

My low beam headlights are completely dim, orange glow, I have voiced my concern to the dealership which they have said by replacing the bulb wouldn't take care of the problem. I also contacted Cadillac and still have not heard back from them.this is definetly a safety issue and I can not drive the car at night. I have also seen that this year and model car have had the same issues with headlights. I also have seen lawsuits pertaining to this issue in other states.I feel both Cadillac and the dealership are avoiding taking care of the problem.

The low beams have a very low output. I have replaced the bulbs with the highest output bulbs the auto parts store has which did not improver the low beam output. This makes it very dangerous driving at night. I have to use my bright lights to see at night. This is a constant problem and it does not mater what type of road or if the vehicle is moving.

The low beam headlights are extremely dim and make night driving difficult if not impossible due to safety. This appears to be a known defect in this model vehicle but Cadillac will not acknowledge. The halogen bulbs have been replaced three times but it does not help remedy the problem. The mechanic stated that the issue is with the design of the reflector in the lighting assembly and that the whole headlight assembly has to be replaced to rectify the problem. This is a very expensive solution for the consumer and one which is because of an apparent design flaw according to the Cadillac mechanic.

Both of my headlights are faulty / are wearing prematurely. My headlights have an extremely lack of adequate illumination making it extremely difficult to see the road at night. The headlight defect is a poor seal that allows moisture to enter the headlight. The moisture is causing corrosion and short-circuiting causing both of my headlights to significantly reduce the headlight's output. My husband has contacted the Cadillac dealership on lime street in metairie, la to report the problem and they said they know of the problem. They said they cannot do anything about it but replace them for about a $1,300 fee. They are aware that the headlights are an issue but have not put a recall on the issue. They told we had to take the complaint up with the extended warranty company then they doubt the warranty I purchase with Cadillac for $5,000 will not cover it. Cadillac did not tell me before or after I purchased this $37,000 vehicle that they know about their low grade faulty headlights and that they plan to do nothing about the issue when it happens.

Low beam headlights are a safety issue. Cadillac is quoting $2,400 to replace. Vehicle has 63,000 miles. This issue is systemic with the model. No immediate fix even if they replace parts. Consumer is out the expense and problem remains a safety issue. GM needs to recall and fix. High beams are the only safe way to operate the vehicle at night.

Purchased used 2013 Cadillac Srx in 2016. Noticed that night driving was very difficult using low beam headlights. High beams are great. Tried headlight adjustments, cleaning, etc. Nothing helped. Took vehicle to dealer who informed me that headlight assemblies need to be replaced due to known internal lens defect which switches when lights are switched from low to high beams. Dealer wanted $1,350 for repairs. Took car for 2nd opinion. Confirmed issue. Shop was able to install high intensity bulbs to somewhat compensate for the lumens projected through the lens. This is a serious safety issue! I was struggling to see while driving at night. I live in the country and have limited access to lighted streets. I also noticed a severe inability to see when driving on well lighted highways at night because my headlight beams projected no further than 35 feet in front of my car. How many people have to have accidents and potentially die to ensure a recall?

We bought a used 2013 Cadillac Srx from a Florida dealership. We have been experiencing the headlights don't light well unless high beams are on. I brought it to a mechanic and they told me this car will not pass an inspection. I have read on line that this is an on going problem and their are current lawsuits. I am afraid to drive at night because of visibility issues. I was quoted on new headlights but my mechanic cannot guaranty it will cure the problem. I'm not sure what to do.

Purchased a 2013 Cadillac Srx yesterday from local dealer. Both headlights have virtually no low beam. And car has to be driven with lights on hi-beam when dark. Resulting in a very unsafe condition for on-comming traffic. Internet research shows numerous reports of others with the same "useless low beam" headlight problem.

My 2013 Cadillac Srx dim headlights have gotten noticeably dimmer. At first I thought having the dim headlights replaced would solve the problem, but I am hesitant because the dealership quoted us a price well over $1,000 and informed us that it probably would not solve the problem due to a moisture barrier defect in the headlights and the work would not be guaranteed after that I've researched online and it appears that a lot of Cadillac Srx owners are reporting the same problem. We are having to use high beam headlights at night due to this safety issue with the Cadillac Srx flawed headlight design which is very unsafe for the oncoming traffic. This happens while the vehicle is in motion or stopped. This is every night on any road or highway we happen to be on and in any town or city we have traveled to.
