Drivers side headlight is extremely dim. I returned the vehicle to the dealer and they replace both low beam bulbs. Both sides remained dim, but the drivers side barely shows up against the wall. The dealership refused to do any more investigation and said that the Cadillac Srx is notorious for dim headlights. My wife refuses to drive her own car at night for fear of running off the road

Notice low beam head lights were horrible at night. Check everything and noted there was a problem with reflector. Today took the Srx to Cadillac dealer as purchased extended warrenty. Dealer noted there was a problem but warrenty would not cover replacing the assembly as needed. Was advised the cost to replace the pair would be $1700 needless to say I did not have the work done. It is an extreme night time driving hazard and a very costly repair. Something needs to be done about it.

Low beams on headlights provide extremely poor illumination producing barely 10-15' barely lit roadway. Dealer acknowledges problem by visual observation but says 'computer' says acceptable. Checked internet and found numerous complaints on 2013 and 2014 models. Extremely dangerous on dark roads with little or no street lighting. Help

In many websites, people are reporting that Cadillac Srx is a safety hazard at night because they have a very poor headlight lighting. The lights are so dim; the driver can not see the road. I just spent $70 replacing the bulbs for brighter bulbs, and it did not make any difference. It seemed like the car is running on daylight running lights at night. This issue is a safety concern. Please review how many times people have reported this issue on this website;

In 2016 the headlights began to dim. The beams became so bad it was difficult to see at night and was unsafe to drive. The dealer said it was a common problem. The headlamp housing bubbled causing it to obstruct the beam. In our case it was like an upper eyelid closing over the eye. The headlamps had to be replaced.

A dim headlight issue exists with the Srx. A Cadillac service technician told me part of the problem is with the lens and an oval part of the lens gets clouded and doesn't project light correctly. The lights are so dim I have to use my high beams when possible to see. Using the high beams can impair the vision of oncoming traffic, so I have to use them cautiously. This headlight problem is definitely a safety hazard. This has been a known issue since 2011 and GM has not informed the owners. I have contacted the Cadillac customer assistance center to file a complaint and to request help in getting this issue rectified. However, I was told there was nothing they could do. The dealership wants an exorbitant amount of $1600 to fix this known problem. This is very unfair to the consumers. GM should be concerned that this defect increases the chance of an accident which can result in injury or death. Due to the seriousness of these faulty headlights, I am requesting intervention and assistance for me and other owners of the Srx to get our vehicles repaired either free of charge or at a reasonable price. Thank you so much and I look forward to hearing from your Agency soon.

Our low beam headlamps are dim. We bought the car in May 2015, then left the area. We took it in for routine service three months later and complained about them. We were under bumper to bumper warranty for 50,000 miles. We were told that's just the way they are. We took it in to other dealerships as we traveled and were told the same thing. After 9 different times over 2 1/2 years, we finally insisted they be checked, after our warranty had recently expired. Then they confirmed there was an internal fault with the lamps and they need to be replaced, at a cost of $1,100. We contacted GM with our complaint. The best they will do is install them for free, but we have to pay over $800 for new lamps. We have since learned there is a class action suit starting because this is a huge problem for many. We literally cannot see at night or before daylight without using our high beams. We now will replace them ourselves with after market parts but that's not a guarantee that will fix the problem. We saw a number of complaints on your website. What makes us angry is that we were literally blown off with our complaint 9 times at various dealerships (attachment has all these documented) before a dealership said they had just diagnosed this problem with another customer after she insisted the service advisor drive it home one night. It is a safety hazard and a defect. We assure you, Cadillac is aware of it. There are a lot of us driving unsafely. We try to avoid driving at night or dusk but that's not always possible.

The headlights have been dim from the time we bought the car, but have become dimmer over the past months. It is hard to see at night on a well lit street and just about impossible on a dark neighborhood street. I am afraid that this will lead to an accident and injury. The problem is getting worse. I feel the need to drive with the brights on all the time now.

Headlights too dim to drive at night unless high-beams are used. Took to dealer and they wanted $1800 to change both headlight assemblies. Apparently the bulb reflectors had discolored and reduced the light output.

Purchased car 1 year ago and cant drive it when its darkout due to poor headlight visability on low beam, highbeamis really good, low beam is like you dont have head lights on. Drove it at 5 am and almost wrecked twice not being able to see the road where I was driving. Second issue there was a recall for but it came up that I had no recalls at this time. Nhsta 14132 GM 14132. Does not do this all the time but frequently like this am when I was driving it, has done this also since I bought car a year ago.

Headlights do not emit enough light while driving at night. It is very difficult to view the roads during night time driving. It is very dangerous to drive at night. Warranty wont cover to fix issue. There are a lot of complaints about this issue and they have not recalled the car to fix.

The headlights on this vehicle are dangerously dim. I have spoken to numerous owners who suggested the same issue. The dealerships want to charge over $2000 to correct this and it is not clear that replacing these lights with the same lights will repair the issue. This needs government action or people will get hurt.

The contact owns a 2013 caddiliac Srx. The contact stated that the exterior headlamps had not emitted enough light while driving. The contact stated that it was difficult to view the roads during night time due to the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the headlights were replaced however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000. The VIN was not provided.
