This is a 5 month old SRX. Driving my 11 year old son home from camp and on Chicago Skyway we accelerated out of a toll booth and the engine sounded like a NASCAR. So loud, then all systems went dead and the engine blew a TON of smoke. Had to try to steer the car onto very narrow bridge shoulder. Extremely scary and lucky we didn't die. This is BS for a new car. I have to wonder what the hell GM is doing these days and what the hell kind of engines/electrical systems are going out there without any kind of long-term check. The car is still at the dealer, but our tow-truck driver said he was sure he would be called to haul our car out of the dealership to an insurance auction b/c the engine is completely gone--absolutely fried. But I just know they are going to try to patch it back together, not care and try to send us off on our way. It seems like people are gonna have to start dying again for GM to give a rip. Should never have given up my old BMW.
