My Cadillac SRX is a low mileage vehicle with a little over 65,000 miles. No warning lights, no mechanical issues. When attempting to stop at a red light, with cars ahead of me, my brakes failed. The brake pedal went to the floor. To avoid rear ending the car in front of me, I veered to the right. I crashed into a sign on the side of the road.
Now Cadillac wants me to pay over $1500 dollars to fix the brakes plus the $1000 insurance deductible for damages incurred. I had no warning the brakes/master cylinder was failing. How am I supposed to be made aware of this? When I crash? I could have seriously been injured or hurt someone else... even worse, been killed. This is not acceptable. I have been Cadillac loyal in the past, but now I do not feel safe driving a Cadillac. The master cylinder is slated to be replaced at 125,000 miles. I had less than half of the miles. Cadillac needs to make this right. This needs to be a recall!
