The low beam headlights on a 2012 Cadillac Srx 4 that I just purchased are too dim to drive at night. I had to drive with the high beams on which causes a hazard to oncoming traffic, but I literally can not see the road with low beams on which is very likely to cause an accident. I had someone pull right out in front of me, presumably because the lights were too dim for them to see me coming. I had people flashing their lights at me and one person told me at a red light, that my headlights were off. I had to go straight home and haven't driven the car since. It is a state law in nc that headlights need to be on when wipers are being used. If the headlights aren't visible in the dark, they definitely won't be visible in the rain. The headlights on this vehicle are so dim that it appears they aren't on at all even in the dark. After reading all of the reports of this, I can't imagine how this has not become a safety recall"!"! it seems like exactly the type of thing that a manufacturer should have to correct when they become aware of it. This is, apparently, not at all an isolated occurrence.

Low beam headlights have become very dim to the point that we are unable to drive at night safely and cannot drive at all during rain at night. Contacted local dealer and told the cost would be at least $1300 because complete assembly must be replaced because replacing bulb only will not repair problem.

My 2012 Cadillac Srx while driving at night on low beam is very, very dim. It's basically like driving with no lights on. This only effects low beam, not high. I can not visually see well. This problem has steadily gotten worse. While driving in the rain, you can barely see the road on low beam. There are 1000's and 1000's of complaints on the internet, but I could not find a recall.

Both my car's headlight assembly are so dim, that I can no longer drive at night. GM is aware of this problem in 2010-2015 models. A law suit was won in Florida, however, the out outcome only repairs cars in Florida and California. If GM is going to replace some headlight assemblies then that is admitted guilt and should replace cards in the other 48 states. There is another law suit in detroit, right now. It is not a coincidence that the headlight issue is all over the nation! GM knew of the problems from 2010 to 2015, and did not correct the defect of the sealing gasket, or whatever they call it. Consumers should not have to pay for defect that was known about and ignored. If you will look online on various forums and blogs you will see there are a lot of us that have this problem. Not being able to drive at night is a major inconvenience, not to mention very dangerous to me as well as everyone else on the road. The light dimming started several years ago, however, just in the last 2 years the problem has gotten to the point I can't drive at night due to the fact it looks like I have my parking lights on when driving.

I haven't had an accident yet. My headlights are very dim. The high beams work well. There is condensation in the headlight encasement after it rains. The dimming of the headlights happened in April-May 20019. It is very difficult to see the road at night even with street lights. Dates are approximate since there was no accident. I need to be able to put "not applicable" to some of the follow on questions.

Low beam headlamps have dimmed to the point of having to use the high beams all the time. Understand there has been a problem with this year's headlamp assembly with water entering inside and dimming the lamps. Have contacted GM/Cadillac as there was a service bulletin issued. We were never informed of prior litigation and feel that this is a safety problem and should be addressed by GM/Cadillac. Thank you

The low beam headlights on this Cadillac Srx vehicle have become progressively dim to the point it is a safety hazard to drive at night. The headlight bulbs have been replaced but this has not alleviated the deficiency, which research has disclosed is a result of faulty headlight design and manufacture. GM/Cadillac is aware of the problem, and has even paid for headlight replacement as a result of class action lawsuit settlements, but these settlements have been state-by-state and have not helped a majority of owners, includung me. Florida purchasers received headlight replacement assistance. I live in Florida but purchased the vehicle in Connecticut and therefore received no assistance, even though my vehicle is just as unsafe driving in Florida as the ones GM/Cadillac paid to fix. The night low beam headlight output is abysmally low, to the point that the headlights from following cars provide more illumination than my vehicle's own headlights. Using high beams is beneficial when there is no oncoming traffic; however, there is very often oncoming traffic. Because GM/Cadillac is very aware of this problem and is unwilling to address it, and because driving at night with insufficient headlight illumination is clearly a safety hazard, I believe this is exactly the situation in which the NHTSA should force remedial action.

Im thinking of reaching out to an attorney before someone is killed in this car or by this car. Purchased new 2012 Srx. Has 49,000 miles.sunroof broke 2 different time $3500. Liftgate/sunroof wouldn't open $3500. My husband researched to find this model has faulty drain hose in sunroof causing water to leak into vehicle resulting in erosion in the electrical module causing short out yet Cadillac, or GM will admit. Numerous complaints online. Google 2012 Cadillac Srx it's disheartening knowing the price you paid to get screwed! what next" I haven't been able to see at night lights on dim may as well be off! numerous times almost wrecked trying to see. Purchased extended warranty. Called johnson motor co 12/26/19, couldn't get me in until 1/6/20. Dropped car off 8am Monday service tech agreed there was moisture and fading of my lights this is a major problem with this make but most likely I will be responsible. Stated fla and cal were the only states a lawsuit was settled. How can GM/Cadillac settle in 2 states and not everyone who owns these defective vehicles with the same issues" remember mon morning dropped my car off I receive a call 930 stating bad news we don't cover this and your extended warranty ran out at midnight last night(Sunday) you can call Cadillac and complain most likely they wont take responsibility. Are you kidding me right now" tried to get my car in week and half prior and this is faulty designs that has to do with GM/cad not anything I've done or caused from age.you pushed me out 2 weeks for service. I reached out to numerous individuals trying to fight this expensive issue only to be told over and over "im sorry I understand" not to mention they kept my car for a week, did nothing to it, would not put me in a loaner car. What kind of customr service is this" I will never buy another Cadillac! I hope this helps someone not to waste their $$$$$$

The contact owns a 2012 Cadillac Srx. While driving at night, the low beam headlights were very dim. The contact was unable to see the road and had to used the high beam headlights. The vehicle was taken to massey Cadillac orlando North (4241 N john young pkwy, orlando, fl 32804, (855) 934-7395) where it was diagnosed that the entire headlight components on both sides needed to be removed to be able to replace the headlights. My low beam headlights are extremely dim. Upon diagnosis, there is nothing wrong with the wiring or the bulbs but there is a defect with the headlights on the 2010 to 2015 Cadillac Srx's. it was explained to me that the seal fails and allows moisture in the headlight which causes a haze to build up in the enclosed light cover which in turn makes the lights dim. I have been unable to drive my vehicle at night because I can't even tell that the lights are on especially on a dark street or highway. When I did some research and spoke with GMC/Cadillac I found that GMC/Cadillac has a recall on the headlight assembly in two states only-California and Florida even though the problem is more than likely nationwide. There is also a class action lawsuit against Cadillac/GMC for this defect.
