This is my second complaint regarding my car. The paint is separating from the primer on my hood and also the roof above the windshield. This is another know issue that GM and other auto makers are aware of. This is a FACTORY defect with the primer drying before the paint and top coats were applied (as explained to me by the body shop at the dealership). Started off as a raised bubble on the hood. As I went to apply the crappy touch up paint you have to flake off any rough edges. When I did that, strips of paint peeled off like a banana peel!!!! You can imagine the horror! Now I have a large section of green prime showing.
If you're wondering, this was not caused by a stone or anything else. That's what the dealership said caused it until I show him the perfect pieces of unblemished paint strips!!! Because of the age of my car now GM won't fix it or give any type of reimbursement towards getting this corrected.
Again, GM is not doing the right thing here - CORPORATE AMERICA at its finest. I will state again, folks spend a ton of money for these vehicles and should not have to bear the costs of manufacturing defects!!!! Very disappointed with GM and the top brass who run it. Currently I am only having the hood painted and fenders blended as I just had the dim headlights replaced! They will touch up the roof line, but that will only get worse and will certainly cost a lot more money due to the fact that the sunroof, rails, and inside headliner have to be removed!!!
