Drivetrain warranty ran out in October, 2016. In January, 2017, the ticking noise became louder and with only 54,000 miles on the vehicle, I thought the dealer would give me a break on replacing the engine but their bid was over 8000 dollars installed, verbal estimate. No estimate for repair, just replace. This vehicle was properly maintained and should be recorded on the Cadillac computer program. After reading all the problems the SRX has had with the V6 engine they wouldn't have a recall on engine problems. I really cannot afford to fix the engine problem and will probably drive it until the engine blows up. I'd rather have it replaced or repaired now rather than along a major highway after it blows up. I would like to know if anyone also has or had the same problem.
