PURCHASED 2010 CADILLAC 9/30/2016 and while driving vehicle on 1/3/17 an alert appeared (check low beam light). Upon inspection light was out and there was heavy condensation in housing. I have an appt. on 1/12/16 with the dealer. i hope it's covered!

I purchased my 2010 Cadillac SRX in September of 2015 and thought it'd be a good idea to buy the best extended warranty I could- they called it "bumper-to-bumper". At the time, it only had 26K miles on it. 4 months later (1/2016), I noticed my headlight wasn't coming on and was starting to collect moisture in the assembly. I took it to the dealership and was told that the seal was faulty which caused the headlight to burn up. The warranty didn't cover a dime. I paid $1600 (this was with a discount) to have the assembly replaced.

(3/2016) TWO MONTHS LATER I received the "check low beam" warning on my dashboard and noticed the headlight wasn't coming on. Mind you, my car now has slightly more than 30K miles. Again, I took it to the dealership to have it looked at and was told that there was a non-repairable short in the assembly and it had to be replaced. This job has been quoted at $1880 and of course, the headlight is not covered. This is $3400 within a 2 month period just to have working headlights on a car that only has 30K miles on it!

After being on the phone with GM customer service all day, I was told that GM will pay to replace the headlight if I will pay an $800 deductible. NO!! This is very clearly a big default with these cars and should be paid for by the manufacturer! I was so excited to buy this car for myself but if this isn't sorted out soon, it'll be put up for sale and my family will never own another GM product. If this is how they take care of their customers, I want no part in it.

Headlight went out due to water inside headlamp. I fixed this problem myself as the dealership wanted $900 labor. I had to change headlamp assembly and headlamp to stop the water intrusion.

This is a manufacture's defect and should be addressed by GM.

SAFETY HAZARD!!!! and Cadillac want YOU to pay for THEIR mistake of creating defective and costly lights. This issue is very common among these vehicles and needs to be fixed. Mine (both headlights) shorted while it was pouring rain when it was dark as night out while I was driving my children around on the highway ( i am a nanny,so i am always driving the children around)....if I wasn't comfortable in hazardous driving conditions there could have easily been a crash/fatality/injury. This is unacceptable. I paid fr quality and they can't even make quality headlights. I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM EVER IN ANY VEHICLE OF ANY AGE!!!

THE COST:

$1700 FOR I THINK THE LEFT SIDE (MORE LABOR TO GET TO)

$1600 FOR THE RIGHT SIDE........FOR HEAD LIGHTS THAT ARE REPORTED TO BE FAULTY AND ARE NOT COVERED OR FIXED BY GM/CADILLAC...SO YOU ARE FORCED TO PAY OVER AND OVER AGAIN SAYS SOOOO MANY PEOPLE ON THESE BOARDS OF COMPLAINTS.

This needs to be a recall. if there is a recall on the gps software that does not create a safety hazard to people, then these should DEFINITELY BE RECALLED!!!!!!!!
