- Summary
- This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have a pop, click, tick, snap, or itch type noise in the steering column when turning left or right during low speeds or parking lot maneuvers. Technician will need to inspect the upper and lower intermediate steering shafts for proper connection and fastener torque, steering column mounting bolts and nuts for proper connection and fastener torque, steering column seal, steering column shroud, turn signal switch, steering wheel, and Supplemental Inflatable Restraint coil. Technician will need to replace the steering column assembly if the root cause of the noise has not been found after performing the checks.
